Reclaim your claim on the lands that you walk upon
Come on and dig your feet into the flood-plain
Cause we’ve been here for years
In the valley of tears
Why why why why ay ay ay ay ay
When they tried to bury us
They didn’t know what we’d dig up
We know the truth because we’ve SEEN the past
It’s out there, buried underneath a hundred thousand plastic commemorative Selena cups!
Cause we’ve been here for years
In the valley of tears
LISTEN!
* * *
“Tonight, the Valley burns as the so-called “Basura Bandits” clash with Texas Rangers.
Only hours ago, a skirmish broke out among the groups as a convoy carrying 18,000 metric tons of trash was attacked on its way to Colonia Cosmica on the outskirts of Weslaco.
The masked Bandits commandeered the trucks and emptied their toxic cargo on the doorsteps of Crystal Palm, the Valley’s most exclusive gated community.
In an online statement, a spokesperson for the Bandits said that “our community has for too long been decimated by the waste of the ruling class.”
Colonia Cosmica became the first self-sustaining settlement in the region in 2065. But due to its unincorporated status, several municipalities have decided it would make an ideal location for an automated mega-municipal dump.
The residents of Colonia Cosmica appear to have other plans."

And when they tried to bury us
They didn’t know what they gave up
And when they tried to bury us
They didn’t know what we’d dig up

hold up wait a minute got a steep cut comin'
track from the back ‘bout the redcap runnin’
runnin’ from attack cause that attack would be comin,’ it comin’
like a flashback to a river still runnin’
to a war drum drummin’
to an internet numbin’
to the fact of the redcap slummin’
runnin’ from the past but the past keep comin’
[na - na - na -na - na - na]
it was 2044 and things were gettin’ outta order
the red started to starve, they was runnin’ for the border
the border caught ‘em at large, cause they paper in disorder
paper in disorder? paper in disorder!
they paper was an order for “White Flight: The Sequel,”
seekin’ Terra Nova like what they doin’ not evil
buildin’ and buryin’ like a bully with no equal
but by they weak wall, the
People who’d never fought against
People were forced to act on the
People who never wanted the
People to learn the truth about
People who never fought against
No one except the ones who saw
“No one,” and so the street gave up
No one and the people cried
[na - na - na -na - na - na]
Runnin' from the past but the past keep comin'
finally, finally, JUL/3Z is hot on the track
with rhymes so bold
and flows
that overflow your stacks
like my abueltia siri,
so much more than just a toy
i’m the realest of the real,
‘cept i’m not a real boy
artificially
intelligent
you best be not mistakin’ that for negligence
i’ma tell the truth
so don’t you take offense
gonna have to speed it up
to make it
(make sense)
you call me to compose a beat
i burn through da page of your history
i chop and
i chop and
i chop and
i chop and
i pick up patterns,
i pick up patterns
i pick up patterns: the bodies they drop
pick up patterns: the bodies they drop
picking up patterns in bodies they droppin’
in bodies they droppin, in bodies they droppin’
you: workin’ overtime, you: workin’ overtime
you: dying to move like a new lie
you gotta get you a newer clue,
gotta get to the truth ‘fore we all die
bigot be thinkin bout wallin’ it
warrior workin’ on stallin’ it
callin’ out cowards who droppin’ and choppin’ and
never never never never thinking’ bout stopping it
[na - na - na -na - na - na]
Runnin' from the past but the past keep comin'

// es el año 2033
tengo el honor de representar a mi gente
en este exploración en marte
llevo conmigo mi cultura pero mi corazon se queda atras
te extrañare, mi amor //
an astronaut, a shepherd
he spoke often of adventure
my love, he vanished into space
a song to a far-off place
// y yo pregunto porque
me fue sin pensar en que
lo que nos iba a suceder //
past a moon they took you
// la tierra retrocede //
towards the stars I look for you
// mi amor se fortalece //
see my love through the space you move
off to mars they shipped you
// aqui estoy tan solo //
if i could i'd follow you
// guardaste mi foto //
let the stars carry me to you
// el trayecto a sido dificil
estar tan lejos a sido lo mas que duele
ya no puedo estar aquí //
you made me feel like floating
high above this broken earth
for years i've felt this hurt
// tú, tú eres la lúz
que busco en la oscuridad
quando no estás //
past a moon they took you
// la tierra retrocede //
towards the stars I look for you
// mi amor se fortalece //
see my love through the space you move
off to mars they shipped you
// muriendome del frio //
if i could i'd follow you
// regresa amor mio //
let the stars carry me to you
save me
take me
play me apart
take me
save me
bear me of this earth

Dime mi amor
Do you want to go swimming?
We’ll swim in the waters and sink till we drown
Dicieron Dicieron
But we wouldn’t listen
Dicieron Narciso was coming to town
And there’s no escape
From the waves as they break
Down your walls
They told us all that
Help would be on the way
We swallowed the lie
They left us to die
And the flood came to take you away
A thousand-year storm
That’s what they called em
But a thousand-year storm
Came every year
Narciso, Narciso, El Huracán de nuestro Valle
Won't you blow me away I don’t want to be here
It’s dark and it’s cold, my body is weightless
The water feels like floating in space
Te extraño mi amor my heartbeat is slowing
Narciso came and took me away

Simonada: "HEATDEATH"

a liquid promise
a cruel charade
a cutting falsehood
your crystal barricade
this age
a guilty conscience
a crooked smile
an old deception
your suffocating style
your style
still, I see you
clear as day
you’re a heat mirage
a heat mirage
an empty gesture
a silver stage
a paper tiger
your profiteering ways
your ways
a grim obsession
a foreign fear
eternal summer
the flag you’ve planted here
here
still, I see you
clear as day
you’re a heat mirage
a heat mirage

Vamos a contar un corrido
Con estos amigos caídos
Aquí en el almacén
Al comienzo de todo el cosmos
Ya estaba la primera madre
Supervisó la calidad de las estrellas,
Atando todo con su energía dura
Pero como pasó este momento
Las armonías comenzaron a fallar
Y los hijos de todos los planetas
Eligieron rapidez a conquistar

Y volver volver, volver
A tus brazos otra vez
Llegaré hasta donde estés
Yo sé perder, yo sé perder
Quiero volver, volver, volver
Nos dejamos hace tiempo
Pero me llegó el momento
De perder
Tú tenías mucha razón
Le hago caso al corazón
Y me muero por volver
Y volver volver, volver
A tus brazos otra vez
Llegaré hasta donde estés
Yo sé perder, yo sé perder
Quiero volver, volver, volver
